Gearóid Ó Riain co-founded Compass Informatics Limited, and is the company’s Managing Director. He leads company development strategy and delivery and combines this with hands on design of projects and solutions across a wide range of sectors. Gearóid is also a director of GoParkit, a parking payments and management provider; Citi Logik, an analytics company that utilises anonymised & aggregated mobile network data analysis for people and vehicle movement analysis; and iGeotec, a geospatial technologies company
Gearóid holds an MSc. by Research from Trinity College Dublin, and a number of project management qualifications. He has also completed the International Sales Programme with Enterprise Ireland and the Dublin Institute of Technology.
As Chief Operating Officer, Vivienne is responsible for the day-to-day operations at Compass Informatics, including programme management and overseeing the successful delivery of clients’ projects. Vivienne has a strong background in business architecture and business analysis with extensive experience in the delivery of complex large scale projects. Vivienne combines her COO responsibilities with close collaboration with project delivery teams to ensure that our projects deliver excellent value for money. Vivienne holds an MSc. by Research and an Honours Degree in Science, both from Trinity College Dublin.
Seamus brings over 20 years of software development experience to Compass Informatics, and as Chief Technology Officer is responsible for the overall technical success of Compass product/project deliverables. Seamus started his career in Skillsoft before moving on to help found and build InnerWorkings. Seamus initially joined Compass Informatics to help transition GoParkit, a parking and permit payments solution, from a prototype to full release in the USA and European markets. Seamus has a track record in delivering clear and intuitive solutions to customers through the innovate use of technology and design, and continues to build on this by helping to guide development efforts within the company. Seamus holds an M.Sc in Computer Science from Dublin City University and an Honours Degree in Mathematical Science from Trinity College Dublin.
Mark is based in the UK and acts as business development manager drawing on his 20+ years of providing solutions to client’s requirements on a consultative basis. Mark supports clients in identification of solutions from Compass Informatics and GoParkit services and solutions, and provides a key account management service to organisations.
Ken Dowling role as a senior projects manager encompasses a range of service areas, most particularly across systems development. Ken has a strong technology and GIS background, and as a senior company staff member has proven knowledge of company capabilities and client requirements. Ken holds a BA from University College Dublin, project management qualifications and technical qualifications.
Walter’s responsibilities as senior projects manager cover geomatics and data analytics projects. With a robust technology background, including a BSc in Computer Science and Software Engineering, he provides project design and management skills and also key account management for a range of longstanding clients. Walter continues to lead the company development of new analytics approaches and reflects this in his academic qualifications, including an MSc. in Geographical Information Systems from Maynooth University.
Liam Lysaght is a senior Compass Informatics staff member and is Centre Director of the National Biodiversity Data Centre. The National Biodiversity Data Centre is operated under Service Level Agreement by Compass Informatics. Liam provides strategic and operational direction and management to both the Centre and the development of its core data management systems.
Liam holds a doctorate on birdlife and habitats from Trinity College Dublin. He was previously Wildlife Officer at the Heritage Council, Ireland, and before that worked as a park ranger and lecturer. He is a member of the National Biodiversity Forum and Ireland’s representative on the Global Biodiversity Information Facility node managers working group.
Based in Cape Town, Gert Conradie is Country Manager for Compass Informatics SA. Gert was previously based in the Dublin office for over four years and has maintained his relationships with Irish- and UK-based clients, parallel with the development of our South African services.
Gert has a background in agricultural engineering, coupled with systems development and data management expertise. He accumulated significant experience in the agri engineering area and in the IT/Geo/Engineering sectors in South Africa prior to his assignment to Ireland. He combines a senior systems analyst/developer role with business and strategic development and a strong awareness of client requirements across Ireland, the UK and South Africa.
